BUFA

So theres much ado about adoptions lately. You have the celebrities who are going halfway across the world to adopt babies and even grown children. You have middle class couples getting children from china and russia, el salvador and guatemala. This has always annoyed me but even more so now. So in the past 10 days that I've been on the nursery service we have had 6 BUFA babies (baby up for adoption). Only 2 of these had an intended adopted family at time of discharge. So that is 4 newborns going into foster or orphanage care. People always say they go overseas to adopt b/c in the US there aren't infants that are healthy, or there aren't the desired type white girls. Well my 6 BUFAs have all been female and both black and white and none of them are physically unhealthy. Though they may not have whole spirits in time but that another post for another day. It's great to want your own kids but if you want to adopt someone else there are a ton of kids here in America that need good homes. I've just met 6 of them.
